Liigah Thrower has built a reputation for expertise and excellence in the craft, art, and design industry. She proudly graduated with a first-class honours degree in Art Design from the renowned Sir John Cass School of Art in London. Liigah’s commitment to excellence is evident through numerous awards, notably for receiving Best Dissertation in 3D Studios, Innovation Processes, and Portfolio awards.
Recognition and Involvement with Livery Companies
Liigah’s involvement with London’s esteemed livery companies is integral to her creative journey. Similarly, she received art, design and craft awards from the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths’, Horners, and GSWD. These organisations recognised her for her excellence, commitment, and knowledge of crafts, art, and design. As a result, Liigah sits on the board of judges for the Jewellery Award at the Worshipful Company of Horners. As well as judging at the annual Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Competition recognising excellence, craftsmanship and innovation in using an ancient material, horn.
Philanthropy and Giving Back
Liigah has actively participated in charitable activities for many years. She is continuously engaged in solo fundraising efforts and fundraising for the local school and community. Since 2016, Liigah has actively engaged in charitable work with livery companies. She is assisting a team in setting up the exhibition ‘Treasures of Gold and Silver Wire,’ which will launch at the Guildhall Art Gallery on September 28th, 2023. Liigah’s charitable nature is also passed on to her young son. Together they fundraise for a chosen charity through Christmas card-making, sales and percentage donations. Thus, her dedication to making a positive impact is admirable. Therefore, Liigah deeply roots the act of giving back to society. This commitment shapes the ethos of Vision of Craft.
